MEASURE FOR MEASURE
(2022)
Furniture Design
The brief required the use of readily available pine timber, with sections measuring 3320 mm (44 mm) and 3000 mm (19 mm). These limitations established the framework for the design process, encouraging a considered approach to material efficiency, structural logic and assembly.
M4M is part of an annual tradition organised by BAPID at Central Saint Martins, challenging students to interpret the same constraints through individual design responses. The completed chairs are exhibited in the main hall on Granary Square, turning a practical design exercise into a collective showcase of experimentation, craftsmanship and problem-solving.
